Argentine National Grand Prix, March, 1931

| One of the few motor-races held in
South America, this event is also one of the longest set-distance events. It is a town to
town race over roads running from Buenos Aires through Rosario on to Cordoba and back to
the Argentine capital again, the distance being 938 miles. Run off early in March the
distance was covered by Carlos Zatuszech, driving a Mercedes-Benz car, 15 hrs. 44 mins. 5
1/5 secs., giving him victory at an average speed of a shade under 60 m.p.h. The second
man Ansaldo, driving a Hudson, arrived over two hours later. Ernesto Blanco, with a Reo
car, took third place. |
