Circuit De Dieppe (Over 1500 cc Class), July 26, 1931
|
| Run over a rain-soaked surface on the
afternoon of July 26, 1931, this event was held under a time limit of four hours; a race
for machines under 1500 cc being held concurrently. A high wind and intermittent rain
contributed to several crashes, but in spite of the treacherous surface the lap record was
broken three times. Philippe Etancelin took his Alfa-Romeo into the lead from the start,
winning at 74.4 m.p.h. Count Czaikowski was second on a Bugatti, the third place being
taken by De Maleplane on a Maserati. |
